Diving Prerequisites for Participants

Your safety is our priority at all times, and this is specially true for scuba diving. For this reason we have the following requirements prior to engaging in a dive.

  • All dive participants must hold a valid diver certification from PADI, NAUI, CMAS or similar.
  • Complete the Diving Application Form
  • Medical Certificate declaring any medical condition and/or people over 55 years of age who have not been diving for the last 6 months.
  • Be between the ages of 13 and 65.
  • We accept certified beginner divers at all dive sites except Gordon Rocks, for which you require a minimum of 30 logged dives or previous evaluation from our dive guides while diving at another site.

In the event you do not have a diving certification, we can assist you with obtaining one prior to venturing under the sea.

Day 1: Mainland - Galapagos: Baltra Is.:

1st Day: Quito/Guayaquil - Flight - Galapagos: Baltra Island & Charles Darwin Station

Flight Quito – Galapagos. Departure at 07h50 AM. Arrive in Baltra at 09h50 AM. Upon disembarking from the airplane, you will go to the Galapagos immigration area. (Here you will need to present your passport and pay your US$100.00 Galapagos National Park fee in cash which is a requirement for all visitors) Once the Park officials have completed the check-in, you exit the immigration area and you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to Puerto Ayora, to your hotel. Room assignment and Lunch.

After lunch, we visit The Charles Darwin Station.

The Charles Darwin Research Station encompasses an information centre, a museum, a library and the tortoise breeding station as well. Here you will have an opportunity to visit some of the best scientists of the Galápagos. Park rangers and park managers among others, who make huge efforts to preserve this Unesco World Heritage Site, conduct the conservation of the islands. In the tortoise breeding and rearing centre you can encounter tortoises of different subspecies, which are prepared for reintroduction to their natural habitats. The most popular inhabitant of this island is probably Lonesome George. He is the only survivor of his specific turtle species. In the past all approaches to find a partner for him failed. But in July 2008 the scientists found a carved nest wit nine eggs from a female tortoise. Three of them could be saved and now accordingly to strict instructions they are incubated synthetically.
